The St. Louis Park City Council meets for a special study session Monday, March 5, at 6:15 p.m. in the Community Room on the first floor of St. Louis Park City Hall, 5005 Minnetonka Blvd, St. Louis Park. City staff will provide an update on the solid waste collection proposal for 2018-2023, and ask council to consider optional every-other-week garbage collection and weekly recycling collection as well as other items related to solid waste collection. Study sessions are open to the public, although no public comment is taken.
At 7:20 p.m., in the Council Chambers on the third floor of St. Louis Park City Hall, the Economic Development Authority (EDA) meets to approve a monthly report on EDA disbursements. At 7:30 p.m. the council convenes for its regular meeting, also in the Council Chambers. The council has the honor of presenting the 2017 Human Rights Award to an outstanding St. Louis Park resident before opening public hearings for three ordinances concerning tenant protection, a right-of-way vacation and preliminary layout for an upcoming bridge and road reconstruction project. The council will also consider action on proposed redevelopment at a Wayzata Boulevard location. A number of items are also on the consent agenda, which are acted upon by one motion as they are considered to be routine or need no discussion.
